The 5th Circular Economy Forum, organized by Swiss Recycle, took place on 9 November 2023 in Aarau and provided an important platform for discussions on the progress of the circular economy in Switzerland. Experts from various fields highlighted challenges and solutions, emphasizing in particular the importance of cooperation between politics, business and science.
We attended the 5th Circular Economy Forum with great interest and awareness of the increasing importance of the circular economy in the current environmental debate. Organized by Swiss Recycle, the leading player in recycling and the circular economy in Switzerland, this forum provided a central platform for discussing progress and challenges in this area.
Thetopic "Closing the loop in Switzerland - where do we stand?" brought together experts from politics, business and science in Aarau on November 9, 2023. The presence of National Councillor Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher and experts such as Julia Beyer and Julia Bachmann was particularly noteworthy.
Thefocus was on questions relating to the current situation of the circular economy in Switzerland, the relationship between politics and business and the data situation on sustainable packaging. A succinct quote that underlines the urgency:
"According to the Swiss Circularity Gap Report, we are currently at 7% circularity."
The panel discussion highlighted different points of view and emphasized the importance of environmental protection and resource conservation as overarching goals.
The forum provided valuable insights and showed that the circular economy in Switzerland is on the right track, but that there is still a lot to do. The next forum is planned for November 5, 2024. For Eartheffect, it was an inspiring experience that reinforced our commitment. We look forward to continuing to be part of these important discussions and making our contribution.
With the aim of raising awareness of the circular economy, we at Eartheffect are developing an exciting new project as part of Future Perfect: "Circular Quest". This interactive adventure, created in collaboration with Swiss Recycle and the FOEN, offers a playful and informative journey of discovery into the world of the circular economy. "Circular Quest" is not only intended to impart knowledge, but also to demonstrate practical approaches to active participation in sustainable practices. We look forward to telling you more about this innovative project soon.
